The HKU Summer Research Programme 2025 offers:

  • Scholarship: HK$10,000 for all participants who successfully complete the programme.
  • Airfare Reimbursement: Up to HK$5,000.

Eligibility Criteria of University of Hong Kong Fully Funded Scholarship

The programme targets outstanding students who meet the following criteria:

  1. Undergraduate Students: Currently in Year 3 or Year 4 with a CGPA of 3.6 or above (or equivalent).
  2. Master’s Students: Must hold a Bachelor’s degree with 1st Class Honours (or equivalent).
  3. Research Interests: A strong passion for pursuing research postgraduate studies and interdisciplinary research.
  4. Research Experience: Prior experience in research is an advantage.
  5. Language Proficiency: High proficiency in English.

Application Procedure

Applications for the HKU Summer Research Programme 2025 will be accepted from January 2, 2025 (10am HKT) to February 3, 2025 (5pm HKT).

Required Documents

Applicants need to prepare the following:

  2. Programme Preferences: Faculty, department, field of study, and mentor(s).
  3. Personal Statement: A 300-500 word essay outlining your career goals and expectations from the programme.
  4. Research Interest: A brief 100-200 word description of your academic focus areas.

    • Passport-sized photo.
    • CV highlighting academic achievements and research experience.
    • Academic transcripts and degree certificates.
    • English proficiency test results (if applicable).
