If you searched for “UAE free internet code”, or “STC free data code 2026”, and found yourself on a page that promised a magical unlimited USSD data code, you were likely misled. That code does not, and never will, exist. Those web pages exist to help their creators make money through advertisements, and some even collect your phone number for more malicious purposes.

This is the part that is accurate: a real, significant amount of free data is available in both of these countries on a monthly basis. The telecom operators in the region give away a huge amount of data during the national celebrations, loyalty programs discreetly convert points into free gigabytes, and both of the governments, at their own expense, have created public WiFi networks that the majority of residents do not bother using.

At TechMLA, we reviewed the actual terms of the operators, the governmental initiatives, and the applications to create this report. Everything below is legal, and everything below is real, and where an offer is seasonal, we honestly said so instead of pretending that it was available today.

If you have not already done so, head over to the e& UAE app at the end of November, and check for the special offers for National Day. Historically, this offer has been automatically added for post-paid customers, while prepaid customers have had to redeem this offer.

du runs its own campaigns around the National Day and New Year about the same time each year and usually offer a combination of bonus data, discounted bundles and app only deals. The volumes have not always matched e& but, they are free, and free is free.

2. Check your personalized offers – Most people never do

Both UAE operators run personalized promotions based on your usage and recharge history. These offers are real, rotate frequently, and are invisible, if you do not look.

Recharge amounts matter. Operators usually associate bonus data with specific amounts and not general spending. Recharging AED 50 in one transaction is better than recharging AED 25 in two transactions.

3. Loyalty points that convert into airtime and data

The marketing for e&’s Smiles program is that it is a discount and food delivery application. This marketing hides the program’s most valuable feature: Smiles points can be used against the user’s e& bill and recharge. Points collected from orders at a partnering outlet and delivery of both food and groceries can be used to add money to the user’s mobile account and purchase data.

Points can be collected through the routine purchases that one has to make anyway. Smiles points expire after 24 months and the program has tiers of Silver, Gold, and Diamond, which are differentiated by the annual spend with e&. If you use the various services offered in the UAE to order groceries or deliver services to your home, you are choosing to not collect free airtime.

4. WiFi UAE — the free network almost nobody uses properly

This is the most underrated service on this list.

WiFi UAE from du is a free public WiFi service that spans Dubai Tram and Metro, RTA Taxis, numerous Dubai parks and shopping malls, and over 200 other public locations. Once you complete a one-time registration, you get a free session that typically lasts for 60 minutes.

To connect:

International travelers who arrive in the UAE are routed to UAE PASS. Their passport number, nationality and date of birth are compared with immigration data in order to grant admittance. The process is a bit slow the first time, but there are no delays on subsequent entries.

Additionally, du provides a free WiFi data allowance to some of their postpaid and prepaid plans. If you connect to the network and enter your phone number, the entitlement is granted automatically without using any of your mobile data balance.

5. Airport, mall and venue WiFi

While none of this is particularly spectacular, if you ride the Metro to and from work, this saves you a significant amount of your data every month.

Free internet data in Saudi Arabia

1. KSA Free WiFi — a nationwide government initiative

The Saudi Arabian telecommunications regulator, now known as CST from CITC, partnered with STC, Mobily and Zain to add 60,000 free WiFi access points at locations such as malls, hospitals, and public parks within the Two Holy Mosques.

The naming convention is the most innovative aspect of the design. As hotspots are named KSA Free WiFi – stc, KSA Free WiFi – Mobily, and KSA Free WiFi – Zain, a user can identify a government-sponsored WiFi network without having to guess.

Joining the network is a simple four-step process.

If you are a resident of Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, or Makkah, you have likely passed several of these network hotspots without even being aware of their presence.

2. Mobily Neqaty — Hidden Free Data Loyalty Program

Mobily’s Neqaty Loyalty Program has the quickest and most convenient method to turn loyalty points into free data in KSA. All customers are automatically added to the loyalty program upon the activation of a Mobily SIM. Loyality points can be redeemed to earn free voice minutes, free data, free credit, and even bill discounts and discounts on participating partner stores.

Earning points is simple for both prepaid and postpaid customers. Prepaid customers earn points for every SAR spent on calls, SMS, and other services, while postpaid customers earn points for every bill payment. Points are not earned for the purchase of service bundles or add-ons.

Open the Zain KSA app and check the offers or promotions section. Bonuses triggered by recharges are posted here and expire without notice.

4. The mystc app and recharge bonuses

If you’re an STC customer, the mystc app is where the offers are. This is where STC’s constantly shifting promotional bundles live. STC offers app-only promotions, and beyond mystc, there is no trace of current offers.

Pragmatically, check the offers section in mystc before every recharge, and verify the package on the confirmation screen. Recharging in app or via STC Pay may trigger a bonus.

Transport, Venue and Campus WiFi

Free guest WiFi is available at Riyadh Metro stations, large shopping malls (Red Sea Mall, Kingdom Centre, Mall of Arabia), airports, hospitals, universities and the majority of hotels. Many Employers and universities in the Kingdom provide Student and Staff WiFi which might be available in multiple Campus building. It might be worthwhile to ask if you haven’t been informed.

Working Methods in Both Countries

You can download offline content in Netflix, YouTube, and Spotify while in WiFi range. You can also download Google Maps and save an entire city offline. This is the most cost effective and most efficient data saving technique available to the average user.

You can also save data with Android’s built-in Data Saver or via the Google Chrome data saving method. You can also restrict background data to social apps.

Social-media-only packs are very cheap data options available to WhatsApp, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube, Facebook, X and LinkedIn. Du’s social pack’s USSD activation is *055*786#; equivalent packs by STC and Mobily are available. Although purchasing these packs is not free, if you use these services the most, this will have a net positive effect.

You can also get data bonuses if you refer a new customer or if you occur a new customer via a data contract. These limited time offers are bonuses and are worth it if you can get them.

Family and data-sharing plans. Customers can share data with other STC customers through Mofawtar plans. For a family living together, the ability to share the unused postpaid allowance is essentially free data.
