School Nomination

A key step is securing a school nomination:

  • Complete the Nomination Request Form as part of your application.
  • Provide the School Administrator’s email address to send a nomination and transcript request.
  • Follow up with your school to ensure timely completion.
    Tip: Check with your school’s Guidance or Student Services Office for internal nomination procedures.

Reference Letter

Applicants must provide a reference letter from a teacher or staff member familiar with their academic and extracurricular achievements:

  • Complete the Assessor Request Form in the application.
  • Provide the assessor’s email address to send a request with instructions.
  • Ensure the reference letter is submitted before the deadline.

Transcript Submission

The school must submit a single transcript directly via the application platform:

  • The transcript request is included in the nomination email.
  • Schools must upload the transcript by February 14, 2025.

Essay Submission

Write an original essay (1000–1250 words) on a public issue that matters to you:

  • Submit the essay in PDF format via the application portal.
  • Ensure your essay demonstrates critical thinking and personal perspective.

Accessing the Application of Canada National Scholarship Program

  • Their OUAC reference number.
  • Their date of birth.
    Note: Allow at least five business days after submitting your application to the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre (OUAC) for Western University’s system to process it.
