This program is open to both U.S. citizens and international students from around the world, with no application fee required. It provides participants with an incredible opportunity to engage in meaningful research alongside Duke’s renowned faculty and graduate students. Participants will live on campus during the program, which runs from May 25 to July 27, 2025.

Program Benefits

Participants of the Duke University USA Summer Research Program will receive the following financial support:

Eligibility Criteria of Duke University USA Summer Research Program

To apply, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  1. Be enrolled in an accredited college or university.
  2. Hold sophomore or junior (second- or third-year) status.
  3. Be eligible to work or study in the United States (Duke will assist international students with J-1 visa applications).
  4. Students outside the typical sophomore/junior status may still apply if they can explain their circumstances in the application.
