Applications are now open for the YSEALI Academic Fellows Program 2026 in USA (Fully Funded), a prestigious, fully funded exchange opportunity in the United States, funded by the U.S. Department of State. This five-week academic and cultural program is designed for young leaders from Southeast Asia and will be held during Fall and Spring 2026.
Open to both undergraduate and recently graduated students, the program aims to develop leadership skills, promote cross-cultural understanding, and strengthen ties between the U.S. and Southeast Asia. Selected fellows will study at one of 12 top U.S. universities and participate in enriching academic and community activities.

✅ Eligibility Criteria For
To be eligible for the YSEALI Academic Fellows Program, applicants must meet the following requirements:
Age: 18–25 years (exceptions possible for outstanding candidates over 25)
Nationality: Must be a citizen of one of the following countries:
Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, VietnamResidency: Must reside in one of the eligible Southeast Asian countries
Academic Background:
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program OR
Have completed a degree within the past 4 years
Language Skills: Strong command of English (reading, writing, speaking)
U.S. Status:
Not a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
Not currently employed by the U.S. Government or an immediate family member of a U.S. Government employee
Previous Participation: Must not have previously participated in the YSEALI Academic Fellows Program
Visa Eligibility: Must be eligible for a J-1 Exchange Visitor Visa
